Springlike conditions continue at Donner Summit, but there was half a foot of new snow Monday. Hiking at 7000 ft is feasible; the snow is firm but slippery; but you can also ski on north-facing slopes.

Warm (~60°), sunny, springlike conditions continue at Donner Summit. However, be alert to a weak weather front Monday, possibly bringing 2-4 inches of new snow.

Warm (~60°), sunny, springlike conditions continue at Donner Summit — except on weekends. Showery and ~48° this weekend (May 3-4), hotter than average next weekend (~68°). Seasonal snowfall now exceeds the 1991-2020 median (by 3 inches, thanks to a weak system last weekend).

Last week we reported more than 3 feet of new snow; today we're reporting sunny skies and 60° temperatures. Spring skiing, but Donner Summit resorts will start closing April 20.

There's been a lot of snow over the past 7 days; and it's been cold. Great conditions for skiing and boarding.

Spring ended today ... or at least the first burst of spring. Daytime high temperatures have been around 60° with bright sun since the weekend but today's high/low temperature range is 39°/29° and rain/snow is in the air..
